The 45 degree slant bed design minimizes heat distortion and gives better access to the turret and chuck and also efficient chip removal.
All guide ways are rectangular box section to maintain rigidity in prolonged operation. This high rigidity structure ensures long tool life and superior machining accuracy.
The wide power range spindle with two stage gear box is ideal for high torque or high speed turning operations.
These qualities together with the super fast turret action, programmable tailstock and removable coolant tank make the TNC-40N a formidable turning machine.
One Piece Meehanite Cast Iron Bed
The 45 degree slant bed structure consists of a one piece meehanite casting with precision hardened ( above HS-70 ) and ground box ways for rigidity and efficient chip flow from the workpiece.
High Precision Axis Traverse
The saddles are lined with hand scraped Tercite B for maximum durability during heavy duty machining. The traverse movements are powered by AC digital servomotors and high precision ballscrew mecanisms. Both the slideways and ballscrews are automatically lubricated by command from the CNC control.
Heavy Duty Spindle and Gear Box
The spindle is equiped with a double row of high precision roller bearings and angular contact double row thrust bearings for super rigidity and maintenance free operation. The two stage ZF gear box is manufactured in germany and is interfaced with the motor and spindle by high quality 'V' belts.
Automatic Hydraulic Turret
The hydraulic turret is driven through a gear and clutch mechanism to provide high accuracy and reliability. The bi-directional system will automatically rotate in the quickest direction to find the next tool. The turret only requires 0.2 second to move to an adjacent tool station and only 1.0 second to select the tool station at the opposite side of the turret.
A set of tool holders are also supplied if the turret is fitted with the standard direct mount turret disk.
The turret has an integral system to direct coolant to the tool in the working station.
Programmable Hydraulic Tailstock
Both the body and the quill are programmable. The tailstock body latches on to the saddle to be positioned by the 'Z' axis servo system, and the quill is hydraulically driven.
