Product Description
Kent’s versatile KMV-32P is a double-column, vertical machining center designed for the high-speed, high-precision production of large workpieces. Suitable for a wide range of industries, including aerospace, construction, die and mold and heavy machine, this versatile machine can accommodates up to 10,000 kg on a 3,200 x 1,600 mm work table.
The KMV-32P is equipped with a powerful 50 taper, 22 kw / 30 hp, 4,500 rpm integrated spindle that generates up to 580 nm of torque through the standard German ZF gearbox, for heavy duty cutting of large cast iron, steel and high speed cutting of aluminum workpieces. ISO-50 higher specification spindles offer 6,000 and 8,000 rpm options. The machine is also available with an optional 40 taper, and optional maximum speeds of up to 15,000 rpm.
A variety of interchangeable manual and automatic head attachment are available for universal and 5-face machining operations.
The frame of the Kent KMV-32P is designed and built of Meehanite cast iron. The physical response of the structure being fully optimized to withstand extreme stress, deformation or temperature variation.
The machine is fully guarded for optimum operator safety and has an ergonomic control panel for versatility of operation.
A full accuracy report accompanies each machine after rigorous inspection is performed by lazor and ball bar equipment in the temperature controlled workshop.
The standard CNC control is the Fanuc Oi-MD ( Package A ) with 8.4" LCD colour monitor.
Product Features
The Machine Frame
The machine base, column, cross beam, work table, headstock and all cast parts are made of top quality meehanite cast iron. All component parts are annealed to remove any internal stress thus preventing any deformation after machining. Finite analysis is used to achieve the optimum rigidity and durability.
Fully Enclosed Splash Guard for Complete Operator Safety
Tall high quality steel guarding encloses the machine to contain the coolant and metal chips and protect personal nearby. All doors are interlocked according to EU recommendations.
The Slide Ways
Both X and Y axes are equipped with heavy duty LM guide ways for speed and precision. The Z axis has robust square box type slideways for even greater rigidity.
The Nitro Counter Balance System
The Z axis carrying the headstock, is counter balanced with dual pneumatic cylinders charged with Nitrogen, for automatic cushioning during vertical motion.
The Ball Screws
All three axes have pretenioned super precision hollow core ball screws with circulating temperature controlled coolant.
The Spindle Cartridge
The standard integrated direct drive spindle employs two pairs of ultra-precision taper roller bearings for maximum rigidity and durability. Long nose spindles are available as per customer requirements. The standard spindle nose is ISO-50, but ISO-40 is also available at no extra cost. The maximum spindle speed for either basic spindle type is 4,500 rpm.

The Oil Refrigeration System
The oil chiller circulates temperature controlled coolant oil through all three ball screws and the ZF gear box to eliminate any inaccuracy caused by thermal displacement.
ZF Dual Stage Automatic Gear Box
The German-built Z.F. dual stage gear box is a standard accessory which is fully sealed and lubricated and temperature controlled by the oil chiller.

400 litre / 20 bar High Pressure Through the Spindle Coolant System
The extra 400 litre coolant tank is supplied with a paper filtration system and 80 litres / min. pumping capacity. The pressure of the coolant through the spindle is 20 bar.
600 litre / 20 bar High Pressure Through the Spindle Coolant System
The extra 600 litre coolant tank is supplied with a duplex filtration system ( 25 microns smallest particle ) and an 80 litres / min. pumping capacity. The pressure of the coolant through the spindle is 20 bar.
